Quick answers
Who is Misha Plotkine?
The founder of MobyTrip, a trip-planning app that pitched on The Disruptors and was covered by BetaKit (2016-10-04) and Digital Trends (2016-08-15), which also names Anatoli Plotkine as co-founder. He is a 2010 Queen's Commerce graduate, per a Smith School of Business alumni note (summer 2016).
What did MobyTrip do?
It started around 2014 as an AI-assisted trip planner that built a full itinerary from a traveller's inputs and public data (TripAdvisor, Foursquare) and let groups edit and share it. After launching in August 2016, the team found the ranking technology more viable commercially and pivoted to placing and bidding on travel search ads for hotel and flight sellers, as Plotkine described on the TechTO TravelTechTO stage in July 2017 (3:49).
