Quick answers

What does Nadine Hare do?

She works at the intersection of anthropology and design, running ethnographic research with patients and caregivers so health technology is built around how care is actually experienced. She co-founded co-being design and is an Innovation Fellow at Women's College Hospital.

What was Nadine Hare's argument at HealthTO?

That care has become more precise and less caring. Better imaging and screens let clinicians see inside the body but removed the touch and attention patients describe as the thing that makes them feel cared for.

What did she say about the wellness narrative?

That framing wellness as an individual responsibility is unattainable and alienating for most people, and drives health anxiety. She argued for communal well-being and partnership instead.
