Who is Oleg Gutsol?
A co-founder of 500px, the Toronto photo-sharing and image-licensing company. PetaPixel, interviewing him in May 2011, described him as the co-founder and technical director of 500px. Is Oleg Gutsol still at 500px?
No. BetaKit reported on September 15, 2014 that Gutsol had departed and said he was "ousted from the company that he created by the people [he] trusted most"; the same BetaKit report noted his role had shifted six months earlier to special projects. TechCrunch reported his exit the same day.
What happened between Gutsol and the 500px board?
The Next Web published his own account on May 23, 2015: the board removed him as CEO in March 2014 citing inefficiency, COO Andy Yang — whom Gutsol had hired — took the top job, and Gutsol was formally terminated in September 2014. He told The Next Web he had been waiting for the next board meeting to fire Yang.
