People come up with great Gantt charts or create launch schedules that, within about a week to a month, just kind of fall apart. Reality steps in and derails our plans.
We forget that everyone else is in the same boat. We're all equally horrible at planning things.
Keep it simple enough that you can update it in about five to ten minutes at a time, and keep everyone else abreast of it. Accept the fact that things are still up in the air — but that there is a boundary on how chaotic they are.
