Did Phillip Haid co-found Public Inc?
Yes. The Globe and Mail reported on February 11, 2011 that "Founders Paul Estey (the company's chief innovation officer) and Mr. Haid joined forces in 2008 after years in the non-profit sector." In a bmeaningful interview published February 4, 2014, Haid said: "I started Public with my business partner Paul."
Is he still Public's CEO?
Yes. Public Inc's about page, checked September 23, 2026, captions a photo "Phil Haid, our CEO, on talk radio discussing #ProfitWithPurpose". Inspired Insider's podcast episode dated January 18, 2024 introduces him as "CEO and Co-Founder of Public Inc."
What did he do before Public?
Ran a social-issue ad agency. In the February 4, 2014 bmeaningful interview Haid said he joined Manifest Communications as a strategist, "did that for 3 years and then was asked to run the company and did that for the next 4 years." He said he had earlier worked in Parliament as an intern and legislative assistant and at the Canadian Council for International Co-operation.

Expanded into the US. Campaign Canada reported on March 12, 2026, under the headline "Public's Phil Haid on its first acquisition", that "The social impact agency has acquired Boston-based Rocket Social Impact as it looks to grow its U.S. revenue."
