Did Radek Garbowski co-found Motoinsight?
Yes, under its original name. The Globe and Mail (June 23, 2011) quotes "co-founder Radek Garbowski" on Unhaggle's launch, and Canadian Auto Dealer (August 3, 2011) lists him with Andrew Tai and Neal Shah as co-founders of Unhaggle.com. Ivey's alumni magazine (September 1, 2014) says the HBA '08 classmates launched Unhaggle in 2011 after careers in finance. Andrew Tai's July 9, 2021 post on motoinsight.com calls him "My co-founder Radek Garbowski."
What did Unhaggle do?
It let Canadian car buyers see market pricing on new vehicles and had dealers compete for their business online. Garbowski told the Globe and Mail in June 2011 that buyers could use Auto Trader or Kijiji for used cars "but for new cars, there really isn't anything out there." MoneySense (February 15, 2012) reported the site may also earn a commission from the dealer, citing him. The company later pivoted to selling its MotoCommerce digital-retailing software to automakers and dealers as Motoinsight.
What happened to Motoinsight and what is Garbowski's role now?
TRADER Corporation, parent of AutoTrader.ca, made a strategic investment in January 2020. On July 9, 2021 Andrew Tai wrote on motoinsight.com that Motoinsight was being joined with TRADER's other software assets in a unit led by Edwin Ulak, that he was stepping down as CEO, and that Garbowski "has been appointed to lead the Motoinsight business and team going forward." TRADER launched that unit as AutoSync in June 2022 (Canadian Auto Dealer, June 29, 2022). As of 2026-10-24, motoinsight.com redirects to autosync.ca, and no AutoSync page read today names Garbowski, so his current title is unconfirmed.
Has Radek Garbowski spoken at TechTO?
No. Motoinsight's connection to TechTO runs through co-founder Andrew Tai, who spoke at TechTO on April 13, 2017 on "Growing from startup to business". Garbowski has not appeared on a TechTO stage.
