Franchise businesses, they're in the business of creating clones of themselves. Their knowledge, their operating system, the ops manuals, the training videos, their procedure statements, the compliance documents — all of this stuff that franchisees really need to succeed, but access is really hard.
anybody I ask, “is knowledge management important?” they'll say yes. But then you ask a CXO of that enterprise, a consulting firm or a law firm or whatever, “is this a top 10 priority for you this year?” No, it's not.
