Who is Rick Perreault?
One of Unbounce's six co-founders and the landing page company's first CEO. BetaKit reported on October 26, 2021 that Perreault co-founded Unbounce in 2009 and bootstrapped it for 10 years before handing the chief executive job to Felicia Bochicchio.
Is Rick Perreault still Unbounce's CEO?
No. BetaKit reported on October 26, 2021 that he stepped into the executive chair role and Felicia Bochicchio, who had joined as chief revenue officer in June 2018 and been promoted to president in 2020, became CEO. Unbounce's own company record notes Steve Oriola has been CEO since January 2024. An old Unbounce-hosted bio page at rick.unbounce.com, checked in September 2026, still titles him "Co-Founder & CEO" and has not been updated.
Why did he step down?
Health. BetaKit reported in October 2021 that Perreault had been diagnosed with cancer, took a six-month leave of absence for treatment and was cancer-free by the time of the announcement. He told BetaKit: "I have a new outlook on life. I always say Unbounce is my baby, but these two kids are everything to me."
How did Unbounce get started?
Leveling Up's Growth Everywhere interview, published March 4, 2019, reported that by 2009 Perreault had assembled six co-founders in his Vancouver apartment and had four paying customers by 2010. The SaaS Club podcast episode of December 4, 2014 covered the same bootstrapped start with no outside investment.
