About

Unbounce was started in 2009 by six co-founders — Rick Perreault, Carl Schmidt, Oli Gardner, Carter Gilchrist, Justin Stacey and Jason Murphy — out of a small room in Gastown, and stayed effectively bootstrapped for a decade. On the TechVancouver stage in August 2016 CTO Carl Schmidt put the numbers on the record: under C$1M ever raised, about US$1.1M in revenue per month, roughly 160 people in two offices, and profitable. The first real outside round came in June 2020, when Denver private equity firm Crest Rock Partners invested C$52M and took majority ownership. Unbounce acquired attribution company LeadsRx in January 2022 and merged with San Francisco CRM company Insightly in July 2024, both Crest Rock portfolio companies. Steve Oriola has been CEO since January 2024 and leads the combined business.

Backers

Crest Rock Partners (Denver) — C$52M / US$38.4M in June 2020, taking majority ownership. Effectively bootstrapped before that on under C$1M.
