I graduated in 2005 with my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture, and I was like, alright, real world, here we go. I had no idea how to make money. Adulthood sucks when you wasted your youth.
Don't wait to build your audience until after you have a product ready to sell. Start early, share your story, people want to hear it. It's actually interesting even though you don't think you're interesting.
Work hard, but realize that that's not tenable as a long-term strategy. Learn how to work smarter and work through people over time rather than trying to do all the work yourself.

A Vancouver company measuring how visible websites are in search engines, sold mainly to enterprises. Bucci founded it in 2009 and it stayed 100 percent bootstrapped and private.
What happened to it?
Moz acquired STAT in October 2018 and Bucci joined Moz as vice-president of research and development.
What was his first big customer?
Expedia, landed in the product's first year on the back of the technical SEO blog he had written while building it. He credits that account with pulling the whole company toward the enterprise market (TechVancouver stage 2016-10-07).
