What is Float?
A Canadian business finance platform — corporate cards, bank accounts, FX, bill pay and reimbursements — aimed at automating a company's financial stack.
How did Float start?
Khazzam met his co-founders in 2021. They had been Shopify and Uber interns asked to pay for a company event on their own cards and expense it back, and were building a product called Journal to fix that. Khazzam had filed a €150,000 expense report at Uber in 2015 and recognised the problem.
How much has Float raised?
A $70-million CAD Series B led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives closed in January 2025, with OMERS Ventures, FJ Labs, Teralys and Garage Capital participating.
