Tamer Mohamed is founder and CEO of Aspect Biosystems, the Vancouver biotech printing living tissues that are implanted in the body to replace function lost to disease. A computer engineer who took biology courses late in his degree, he co-founded the company out of a UBC lab in 2013 and became CEO in 2016. It has raised over US$350M.

So what is our mission? Our mission quite simply is to create what we call bioprinted tissue therapeutics — we implant these living tissues inside of the body to replace damaged function that is lost due to disease.
