Quick answers

Who is Will Hsu?

Co-founder and partner at Mucker Capital, the Los Angeles seed fund he started with Erik Rannala in 2011. He sat down with Alex Norman at TechTO's Beyond the Bubble session during Toronto Tech Week in June 2026.

What has Mucker Capital backed?

Honey, acquired by PayPal; ServiceTitan, which listed on Nasdaq; and AuditBoard — all built outside Silicon Valley. The firm also runs MuckerLab, its pre-seed accelerator.

What did he tell TechTO?

That being contrarian before it is obvious is the only real edge, that founders should interview a VC the same way they would hire for the role, and that raising should never take 80 per cent of a founder's time.
