ACL Services was founded in Vancouver in 1987 by Hartmut J. Will and his son Harald Will, commercialising the Audit Command Language that Hartmut Will had developed in UBC's Faculty of Commerce from 1972. It became a global standard for audit analytics, later adding the HighBond integrated GRC platform. Norwest Venture Partners made a US$70M strategic investment in 2017. The company rebranded as Galvanize in May 2019 alongside its acquisition of Rsam, and Diligent completed a US$1B acquisition in April 2021. The Galvanize name has since been retired into Diligent.
