About
Agent+ was built by practising physicians for practising physicians. Jeremy Theal, a gastroenterologist and chief medical information officer at North York General Hospital, and Joyce Lee, founder and physician lead of the hospital's Geriatrics Clinic for Parkinson's, founded the company in 2015 after concluding that nothing on the market let a mobile doctor bill OHIP from wherever they happened to be seeing patients. Their answer was to fold billing into the clinical workflow: scan the patient's information, create and submit the claim, done — no paper slips accumulating through the day, and no patient data riding around in a jacket pocket. The app has built-in logic to catch inaccurate claims before they are sent. It reached Ontario doctors in 2016, built by the Toronto agency Plexus Interactive, with mobile security supplied by Identos after Theal met its co-founder and executive chairman Hamid Arabzadeh. Theal took the TechTO HealthTO stage in November 2016 to talk about the harder problem behind the product — how you get physicians to adopt technology at all, and how security and simplicity pull against each other in mobile healthcare. The app is still sold today, now under the Motive Health name: agentplus.ca redirects to motivehealth.com, which markets "OHIP Billing with Agent Plus" and names Maple and TIA Health among its virtual-care partners.

Quick answers
What is Agent+?
A mobile app that lets Ontario physicians bill the Ontario Health Insurance Plan from their phones. Doctors capture patient information and submit the claim at the point of care rather than collecting paper slips through the day and reconciling them later.
Who founded Agent+?
Dr. Jeremy Theal, a gastroenterologist and chief medical information officer at North York General Hospital, and Dr. Joyce Lee, who founded the same hospital's Geriatrics Clinic for Parkinson's. They started the company in 2015.
Is Agent+ still available?
Yes. It is now sold under the Motive Health name — agentplus.ca redirects to motivehealth.com, which markets the app as "OHIP Billing with Agent Plus" and lists Maple and TIA Health as virtual-care partners.
What did Agent+ present at TechTO?
Jeremy Theal spoke at the November 2016 HealthTO on twenty years of trying to get physicians to adopt technology, and on the tension between simplicity and security in mobile healthcare software.
