About
Anthemis was founded in 2010 by Amy Nauiokas and Sean Park to invest in the rebuilding of financial services — banking, insurance, payments and the infrastructure underneath them — rather than in technology generally. It runs from London and New York and has backed companies including Betterment, Currencycloud and the European seed investor Seedcamp. Mark Dowds, who co-founded the on-demand insurance company Trov, joined as a managing director and appeared at TechTO in December 2019 for a fireside chat with Alex Norman about moving from founding companies to funding them.
