About

Eunice Wu, a pharmacist, and Can Uncu, who handles the AI, founded Asepha at the end of March 2023. Wu's case for it, made on the TechTO stage seven months later, came from hospital practice: caring for eight or nine patients in a day and knowing the time constraints stopped her giving any of them her best. The company came out of Next Canada and Techstars Toronto, moved into a Silicon Valley hacker house in September 2023 and started generating revenue that month. Its bet was that pharmacy, not the medical space, was the faster route to market for healthcare AI, helped by recent regulatory changes. In June 2025 it raised US$4 million in seed funding co-led by Glasswing Ventures and Core Innovation Capital, to open a New York office and double the team.
