About
Bitmaker Labs trained web developers through an immersive nine-week bootcamp, later expanding into mobile, UX and ad optimization. Craig Hunter joined as CEO in 2014 and grew it from one course to seven programs; it was the only Ontario coding bootcamp holding a formal written exemption from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. General Assembly acquired it on 10 August 2016 as its entry into the Canadian market, taking GA from 15 to 25 campuses. Then-CEO Andrew Mawer stayed on as regional director of GA Toronto.
