About

BuyProperly launched in 2019 out of Toronto after Khushboo Jha concluded that buying property in the city had moved out of reach of ordinary salaries. Investors buy shares in a property and receive rental income plus a share of the exit. The company started a waitlist before it had a product, used it to test demand and to work out what stopped people investing, and went live about four months later. It raised a $2 million pre-seed in May 2021 and expanded into the United States, where it now runs a San Jose office and has widened the product from residential real estate to a broader set of private-market deals.
