About

Cabot began with a piece of land almost nobody else wanted: a remote coastline in Inverness, Nova Scotia, where a coal town had lost its industry. Ben Cowan-Dewar founded the company in 2004, partnered with Bandon Dunes founder Mike Keiser, and opened Cabot Links in 2012. The courses have been consistently ranked in the World Top 100 by Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine, and the resort is credited with revitalising the local economy.

The company has since become a portfolio: six owned destinations — Cabot Cape Breton, Cabot Citrus Farms in Florida, Cabot Highlands in Scotland, Cabot Bordeaux in France, Cabot Saint Lucia, and Cabot Revelstoke in British Columbia — plus four managed partner properties in Nevada, Mississippi and Indiana. Each pairs golf with real estate.

Jules Cowan-Dewar is Chief Marketing Officer, having joined as VP of Sales & Marketing in January 2020. She earlier ran marketing at Indigo Books & Music, and brought that retail digital-transformation story to TechTO's MarketingTO stage in April 2019.
