ChangeUP

ChangeUP was a Vancouver budgeting app for freelancers, contract workers and people juggling several incomes. It calculated tax owed across income sources in real time, showed a budget in hours worked rather than dollars spent, and helped users work out what raise to ask for. The app and its website are both gone.

No longer operating — The ChangeUP iOS app has been delisted and changedirection.io now redirects to an unrelated business.

About

ChangeUP was a personal finance app for people without a single steady paycheque — freelancers, contract workers and anyone stacking several incomes. It ran the tax maths for each income source as it was entered, so a user could see pre-tax against after-tax earnings in real time and set aside what they would owe instead of being surprised at filing. Other features framed a budget in hours worked rather than dollars spent, and calculated a target raise before asking for one. The company operated as Reis Financial Solutions Inc. and shipped an iOS app in late 2017. Rafael Reis presented ChangeUP at TechVancouver in January 2018, arguing that non-technical founders and co-founders should learn to code from day one. The app has since been delisted, and changedirection.io now redirects to an unrelated business.
