About
Citi's presence in the TechTO archive is a talent conversation: Ian Ng, who leads Citi's Canadian operations and technology teams and is the bank's global head of fixed-income electronic-trading technology, spent June 2024 on stage with job seekers and engineers on how to stand out. His own remit is the reason it is not an abstract subject — he has been part of expanding Citi's technology footprint in Canada, including a downtown Toronto lab dedicated to the bank's markets technologists. Citi itself is one of the largest institutional banks in the world: it says it operates in more than 180 countries and jurisdictions with a physical presence in 90-plus markets, serves about 19,000 institutional clients, and moves close to US$6 trillion a day across borders and asset classes.
