About
DroneDeploy makes reality-capture software that automates a flight and turns what the drone sees into usable site data — what the company calls everything from flight to insight. It started in agriculture and moved into construction and energy, which are now its largest industries. In February 2021 it raised a US$50M Series E led by existing investors Energize Ventures and AirTree, taking total funding to US$142M. M.G. Thibaut joined as CFO three weeks before appearing at TechTO Together in August 2020, and used the session to compare running finance at a large company with running it at a growth-stage startup — she had spent six years at Yahoo before Copper, Strava and Revision3.
Backers
Energize Ventures and AirTree led the 2021 Series E, with Bessemer, Scale, Emergence, AngelPad, Uncork and Frontline Ventures participating.
