About

East Side Games was founded in Vancouver in 2011 by Jason Bailey, Josh Nilson and Galan Akin, and grew into one of Canada's larger independent mobile game studios, best known for idle games built on licensed entertainment properties. Bailey had previously founded Super Rewards, a social-game monetization platform that helped popularize the free-to-play model, and sold it in 2009. The studio became a public company as East Side Games Group (TSX: EAGR). Darcy Taylor served as CEO until April 2022, when the company announced a succession plan that returned Bailey to the role; as of May 2026 he was serving as executive chairman and CEO, leading a restructuring focused on debt reduction and the profitability of the core game portfolio, following a strategic private placement with new investors and insiders. Bailey presented at TechVancouver in March 2016 on finding the single metric that matters to a business.

Backers

East Side Games Group is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker EAGR. It closed a strategic private placement with new investors and insiders in 2026.
