About

Eve Tab launched in May 2014 as a mobile app for Toronto nightclub-goers. Users opened a bar tab of $50 or more in the app, which bought them guest-list entry and line bypass at a partner venue; the full tab value came back to them as drinks at the bar, ordered by telling the bartender they were paying with Eve. A heat map the company called VenueMeter showed which clubs were busy in real time. Payments ran through Lucova. Partner venues in late 2014 included SET on King, Gravity, Bloke and 4th, Gilt, Mix Markham and the Chill Ice House. BetaKit reported $150,000 of private funding in September 2014. Presenting at TechTO on May 11, 2015, founder and CEO Kyle Collier put the unit economics on screen: a 25% commission on each tab, an average tab of $152 and average revenue per user of $44. The company is no longer operating — evetab.com no longer resolves and the iOS app has been delisted.
