About
Every was a Toronto fintech founded in 2017 by Jeremy Black and Matthew Collum. It set out to build a bank account for online businesses — the deposit, payments and card layer a small e-commerce or software company needs, connected to the accounting and commerce tools it already used, rather than a branch relationship. The company raised seed funding in January 2019. Wave, the Toronto small-business financial software company, later acquired it, and the product has since been wound down. Black presented at TechTO's FintechTO in January 2019 on challenger banking in the United States, arguing that within a decade fintechs would hold as many US deposit accounts as traditional retail banks.
Backers
Every raised seed funding in January 2019; the investors were not confirmed in the sources checked. It was subsequently acquired by Wave.
