About
Fiix built cloud software for the people who keep machines running — work orders, assets, parts inventory and the reporting around them. Founded in Toronto in 2008 and formerly called Maintenance Assistant, it raised a US$12M Series B and then a US$40M (C$53M) Series C led by Georgian Partners in January 2019. Co-founder Marc Castel was CEO until July 2018, when James Novak took over and Castel became executive chair. Castel ran it on a triple bottom line of people, profit and planet: it was B Corp certified and carbon-zero certified, and its investors agreed in the term sheet to maintain the B Corp certification. Rockwell Automation announced the acquisition in November 2020 and closed it that December. Fiix is no longer independent, but the product continues under Rockwell.
Backers
Georgian Partners led the US$40M (C$53M) Series C in Jan 2019, with BuildGroup following on; a US$12M Series B preceded it. Acquired by Rockwell Automation, Dec 2020
