Humi was built for the Canadian SMB — one system for HR records, payroll and health benefits, in a market most global HR software localizes for last. It sold outbound from the start: Kliman told the TechTO stage in December 2016, months after launch, that Humi was past 300 companies and had cleared six figures in revenue — after three and a half years at his previous company with no revenue at all. A $15M CAD Series A led by Tribe Capital followed in 2020 and a $31M CAD Series B led by Kensington Capital Partners in 2022. Employment Hero acquired the company in January 2025; BetaKit reported the price at $155M CAD, and Kliman called it 'a better version of a Series C'. Humi integrated into Employment Hero's platform in September 2025, humi.ca now redirects to Employment Hero, and Kliman leads the Canadian business.
