About

Insight Medbotics combines MRI imaging with robotic precision so a clinician can target tissue while the patient is being scanned rather than working from images taken earlier. Its IGAR system has been clinically demonstrated in breast biopsies for breast cancer patients and is, per the company's 2023 announcement, the world's first and only FDA-cleared MRI-compatible robot; other applications under discussion include targeting different organs, therapeutic delivery and device placement, with prostate cancer a stated focus. The company was founded in 2017 and is based in Hamilton, Ontario. Dr. Fazila Seker was appointed chief executive in May 2023, succeeding Paul Chipperton. She came to it after founding and running MOLLI Surgical, a precision-surgery company that expanded into the US and Canadian markets and was acquired, and before that ran innovation programmes at GE as a PhD chemist. On the TechTO Health Toronto stage in September 2025 she gave medtech founders one line of advice: fall in love with your customer, not your technology.
