About
Sheereen Price built Klasses.co and demonstrated it on the TechVancouver stage in March 2016, two weeks after launch. It had a teacher side, where posting a class took four steps and needed no professional credential, and a student side with search, reviews and social sharing. Her stated reason for building it was that people returning to a city are stuck with their school and university circles: a pottery or sewing class is a way to meet someone new, and deliberately not another online course. The klasses.co domain today serves an unrelated product for creators building paid communities.
Backers
No funding found; she described running every function of the company herself on stage.
Quick answers
What was Klasses.co?
A Vancouver marketplace where individuals and businesses posted in-person classes and students searched, registered and paid on the site. Every class was held offline.
Who founded Klasses.co?
Sheereen Price, who later co-founded the alcoholic ice-pop brand Hardpops.
Is Klasses.co still running?
Not as she built it. The domain now serves an unrelated platform for creators monetising classrooms and communities, so no website is linked from this page.
