About
Parallel is a free-to-play trading card game in the mould of Magic: The Gathering or Hearthstone, with the cards issued as NFTs and play-to-earn rewards attached, which put the studio in the middle of the 2021-22 blockchain gaming rush and gave it a token economy — Echelon Prime — as well as a game. The studio has since built out beyond the card game: Colony, which it calls the first AI agent game, where a player's avatar acts on its own from its memories and biography, and Sanctuary, a third-person extraction shooter. The games ship through the Epic Games Store, Steam, the App Store and Google Play. Most of the team is in Toronto. Mojtahedi spent more than a decade at TD Bank before startups, and was chief executive of Bunz, the Toronto bartering community, where he launched its BTZ digital currency in 2018.
