About
Rise People began in 2011 as Paysavvy, built by Faiz Abdulla with his sons Wisam and Tim to handle payroll, vacation, scheduling and attendance for Canadian companies with up to 500 employees. In February 2016 it rebranded as Rise, positioning itself as a people and culture platform with recruitment and retention tools alongside payroll, and Wisam Abdulla moved from chief operating officer to chief executive at the same time. TIMIA Capital announced a $2 million investment in November 2017. The company is headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia, and its own site now lists Faiz Abdulla as founder and co-CEO alongside Misha Abasov.
