About
SafelyYou came out of UC Berkeley, where George Netscher's work on fall detection was seeded by CITRIS in 2015. The system watches a resident's room with an AI-enabled camera: non-fall video is deleted within 60 seconds and no audio is recorded, so only a fall is kept for clinicians to review. Early pilot work in a California memory-care facility cut falls from about 12 a month to two over three months. The company has since moved from detection into predictive care for senior living, and raised a $43 million Series C led by Touring Capital.
