About
ServiceNow's own description of itself is "the AI control tower for business reinvention": a platform that integrates with any cloud, model or data source and orchestrates how work moves across an enterprise. Its pitch is that unifying legacy systems, departmental tools, cloud applications and AI agents gives a company one pane of glass connecting intelligence to execution, with more than 100 billion workflows running on the platform each year.
The product line spans IT service and operations management, HR service delivery, customer service management, security and risk, and low-code application development, with an AI layer — the AI Control Tower — marketed as a way to govern all of an organisation's AI in one place.
In the second quarter of 2026 the company reported subscription revenues of $3,877 million, up 24.5% year over year, and total revenues of $3,987 million, up 24%. Remaining performance obligations stood at $29.0 billion and current remaining performance obligations at $13.20 billion, both up about 21%. It closed the quarter with 658 customers spending more than $5 million a year and 123 transactions worth more than $1 million in net new annual contract value. Chairman and chief executive Bill McDermott said agentic deployments of ServiceNow AI rose ninefold in nine months and that ServiceNow AI had crossed $1 billion in annual contract value.
