About
Swift Medical is a Toronto company building digital wound care. Its Swift Skin and Wound app captures calibrated images and touchless 3D measurements of chronic wounds on a standard smartphone, then aggregates the results into a web platform clinicians and administrators use to track healing over time. Founder Carlo Perez told the TechTO HealthTO stage in July 2017 that the design problem was the whole problem: eliminate taps, never make a clinician remove a glove, work one-handed in the field. The company raised a US$35M Series B in July 2021 led by Virgo Investment Group. Perez stepped down as CEO in March 2023; Brian Litten held the role until April 2024, and Dwayne Sansone was appointed CEO in June 2024.
Backers
Virgo Investment Group led the 2021 Series B, with DCVC (Series A lead), BDC Capital's Women in Technology Fund, Claritas Capital, Chrysalis Ventures, Pender Ventures and Export Development Canada participating.
