About
Hershey is on the TechTO stage through Mathieu Gamache, a senior marketing manager, who spoke at RetailTO in July 2019 about making an ASMR advertisement for Reese called 'Movie About Reese' — a spot built out of the sounds of the product rather than a script about it — and about why an occasional risk in marketing pays for the ones that do not. The company behind it is one of the oldest in the sector: Milton Hershey established The Hershey Chocolate Company in 1894 and it sold its first candy bar in 1900. It has kept acquiring since, adding Lily's Sweets in 2021 and Sour Strips in 2024, and named Kirk Tanner chief executive in 2025.
Backers
Publicly traded on the NYSE. The Hershey Trust Company, which funds the Milton Hershey School, holds the controlling voting stake.
