About

Travel Trends covers the business of travel rather than the destinations: aviation, cruise, hospitality and luxury hotels, sustainability, travel technology, marketing and in-destination experiences. The format is a conversation with the operator, and the guest list runs to Kayak, Microsoft, Skift, Tripadvisor, Virtuoso and Phocuswright. It describes itself as the number one B2B travel podcast globally — a claim it makes for itself, with no measurement standard attached.

Dan Christian launched it in 2022 and hosts it. He had been Chief Digital Officer at The Travel Corporation, a group of some 40 travel brands including Trafalgar and Contiki, after earlier roles at G Adventures and Lonely Planet. The show now runs three episodes a week with a team of six, has expanded into video, and produces custom partner series with Travelzoo, Mindtrip, Deloitte and Forbes Travel Guide. ATTA, Arival, Phocuswright and AFA are named as official partners.

Around the show sits an events business: an annual summit, themed on AI in 2024 and 2025 and "Beyond AI" for 2026, plus keynote and moderation work at more than twenty conferences a year. Christian brought that vantage point to TechTO in May 2024, on what AI is doing to global travel.
