Founded in 2012 by Sean Snyder and based in Hamilton, Ontario, Trend Trunk let a seller post an item in about a minute and then sent them a pre-addressed, prepaid shipping label so fulfilment was not the seller's problem. Its answer to sellers who had too many clothes and no time was Closet Concierge-style stylists: vetted, background-checked people across Canada who acted as mini mobile consignment stores, meeting the seller, listing the items and handling shipping while the marketplace itself held no inventory. Snyder pitched the company on Dragons' Den and struck a handshake deal with Kevin O'Leary that did not close after filming. The company is no longer operating.
