About
Founded in 2021 by Ron Benegbi and Patrick Reily, Uplinq Financial Technologies sells credit-assessment-as-a-service to small-business lenders. Rather than lend directly, it complements a lender's existing underwriting with alternative data and risk signals so they can say yes more often without taking on more risk. As Benegbi told the TechTO stage, the company's purpose traces to his immigrant family: in 1973 a banker gave his father $5,000 to start a small business despite him not qualifying.
Backers
Backed by Surface Ventures, N49P, Impulsum, Magic Fund, Cambrian Ventures, ATX Ventures and Movi Partners; roughly $5.35M raised across three rounds.
