About
Wello was launched in 2017 by INLIV, a Calgary healthcare provider owned by Coril Holdings, to give employees direct access to medical support without a trip to a doctor's office — on-demand phone or video consultations available across every Canadian province and territory. It sold to employers rather than to patients, combining primary medical care, executive health and corporate wellness. Lori Casselman, previously an executive at Sun Life Financial and League's first Chief Health Officer, was appointed president and chief revenue officer in January 2020. She took the TechTO Health stage in June 2020 to talk about what the first months of the pandemic had done to employee benefits and the demand for virtual care in a remote-work environment, and about the work organizations like Wello were doing on racial inequality. Maple, the Canadian virtual care platform, acquired Wello on 12 January 2022, when Wello was serving employees at more than 350 companies ranging from Fortune 100 businesses to small firms.
