About

David Van Bruwaene and Fion Lee-Madan met at Founder Institute and started Fairly AI in 2020, building software to test AI systems for bias, privacy and transparency before they reach production. Lee-Madan told the TechTO audience in February 2025 that the company had raised $2.2M CAD against a nearest competitor's $40M, and counted Microsoft and IBM as partners. In June 2025 Fairly AI acquired the Stockholm company anch.AI, whose founder Anna Felländer had spent nine years developing an AI risk-assessment framework, and the combined company was renamed Asenion after Asimov's laws of robotics.
