Automat used conversational AI to recreate in-store sales conversations online, giving shoppers guided product recommendations and personalization for retail and consumer brands. It worked with both large multinational holding companies and smaller direct-to-consumer brands. Founded in 2015, it raised a US$8.3M Series A and was acquired by conversational-commerce company Salesfloor in January 2022.
