Shawn Moniz told a special HealthTO edition in May 2018 that his route into cannabis was personal: his father, then 74, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and worked through cortisone shots and pharmaceutical treatments before the family started researching alternatives — and reacted to the suggestion of cannabis with the question of whether his son was trying to get him arrested. Moniz said the family's research stalled because the information was scattered, uncurated and not in a form anyone could work through step by step: hemp versus cannabis, THC versus CBD, which method of ingestion, what interacts with existing conditions. That gap became Cannvas.Me, a free education platform with physician-backed content, launched in October 2018. The company said it deliberately avoided funding from licensed producers to keep the content unbiased, listing publicly instead. It reported around nineteen staff across Vancouver and Toronto in 2019. In August 2019 it changed its name to EuroLife Brands Inc.

Publicly listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange and funded through private placements. The company said it deliberately did not take money from licensed cannabis producers so its education content would stay unbiased.
