About
Clover Labs is a studio rather than a single product company, and that is the whole bet. Matt Espinoza and Ryan Kaufman describe blending private equity, the venture-studio model and bootstrapping into one repeatable distribution engine, then pointing it at a portfolio of vertical software products they call leafs: Echos, which runs short-form video at scale across TikTok and Instagram; RedRover, which works on search ranking and getting a product recommended by AI assistants; 1Price, which runs automated pricing experiments; and Camoufox, an acquired open-source browser used for web scraping. The engine is the product the studio uses on itself. Espinoza told the TechTO stage in June 2025 that the first leaf reached a million dollars of annual revenue in 62 days by finding an organic route to the top of Google through Reddit, and that the company sends volume most founders would consider absurd — ten thousand emails, two thousand messages and a thousand connection requests a day, close to a million emails a month across the portfolio. An internal metric they call rev ratio reads reply rates back as a product-market-fit signal and decides which leaf gets scaled. The company raised $500,000 USD at a $10 million valuation in early 2025 — two institutional investors and a group of angels — for about five percent of the company, and had grown from its two founders to fourteen full-time staff by September of that year. Its own claims about growth are self-reported and are dated here rather than presented as current.
Backers
One round of $500,000 USD at a $10 million valuation in early 2025. Espinoza said on the TechTO stage that two venture funds came into it and angels filled the rest, and that most institutional investors passed because the studio model did not fit a single-company thesis. No investor is named on the company's site or in any source found, so none is named here.

Quick answers
What is Clover Labs?
A Toronto software studio that builds and runs several AI-powered products at once rather than one company. It calls them leafs: Echos for short-form video distribution, RedRover for search and AI-assistant ranking, 1Price for pricing experiments, and Camoufox, an acquired open-source scraping browser.
Who founded Clover Labs?
Matt Espinoza and Ryan Kaufman, who are its managing partners. Espinoza said on the TechTO stage that it was just the two of them in January 2025 and fourteen people full-time by that September.
Has Clover Labs raised money?
It raised $500,000 USD at a $10 million valuation in early 2025, deliberately capped at about five percent dilution. Two venture funds joined and angels filled the rest; no investor is publicly named. Espinoza has said the studio structure made the round hard to raise institutionally.
How fast has Clover Labs grown?
Its own account is that the first product went from nothing to $1 million in annual recurring revenue in 62 days, and the company describes itself as Canada's fastest-growing startup. Every one of those figures is self-reported, and the ones quoted here are dated to mid-2025 rather than presented as current.
