About
CoHealth started life as Dash MD, built in Toronto by Zack Fisch Rothbart and Cory Blumenfeld after Fisch Rothbart nearly lost a leg to a complication he failed to recognise while reading paper aftercare instructions in a medicated state. The app replaced that handout with discharge instructions, medical notes and links to community care on a patient's phone, and operated in the United States as Scout MD. It raised $500,000 from angel groups including the Niagara Angel Network, followed by $250,000 from the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network to build a localised version. The company rebranded from Dash MD to CoHealth in September 2018 and reached 30 Canadian hospitals. ACTO, a Toronto life-sciences training company, acquired it in October 2020 to add direct-to-patient education to its platform.

Niagara Angel Network, Peterborough Regional Angel Network, GTAN, the Niagara Business & Innovation Fund and Ontario Centres of Excellence, plus angel investment; the Waterloo Wellington LHIN funded a localised build. Acquired by ACTO in October 2020.
