About
Roger Kirkness and Chris Grouchy founded Convictional in Toronto in 2017 to make B2B commerce work like an API: retailers and marketplaces plug in suppliers, and product, inventory, order and invoice data flows between them without manual setup. It went through Y Combinator, raised $3M shortly after — Grouchy named Garage Capital and Y Combinator on the TechTO stage in November 2019 — and went on to raise $50.7M CAD. The company later rebranded its dropshipping product to Modern Dropship. Grouchy stepped away in August 2024 after seven years; Carro acquired Modern Dropship in April 2026.
