About
DOUBL began as a made-to-measure bra company. Jessica Bosman and Bryn Davis Williams, who met in business school, founded it in July 2020 on the observation that bra sizing and manufacturing had barely changed in a century. The technical core is TAILOR, an engine that takes a one-minute smartphone scan of a fully clothed body — building a 3D model without keeping photos or video — and turns it into a custom sewing pattern. The bras worked: a 2024 Kickstarter hit 325 percent of its goal and shipped more than 300 units, with over $50,000 in organic sales, no refunds and a 40 percent repeat rate, and the company raised more than $250,000 in non-dilutive funding. The business model did not. Davis Williams told TechTO in May 2026 that after four years they concluded the unit economics could not work, shut the product down and rebuilt; within 90 days the new version had signed two retail customers, onboarded 1,000 users and filed two utility patents. What DOUBL sells today is the layer underneath: shoppers build a 3D avatar and get size and fit guidance on other brands' clothing, assessed garment by garment against cut, material, design intent and even dye colour.
Backers
More than $250,000 in non-dilutive funding, and a 2024 Kickstarter that raised over three times its goal. The company was in pre-seed fundraising as of August 2025; no priced round is on the public record.

Quick answers
What does DOUBL do?
It builds a 3D model of your body from a one-minute smartphone scan taken fully clothed, then uses it to tell you how a specific garment will fit — where it will be baggy, fitted or snug — accounting for cut, material, design intent and dye colour.
Who founded DOUBL?
Jessica Bosman and Bryn Davis Williams, in July 2020. They met in business school working on a project to find a new business idea, and settled on bras because the sizing and manufacturing methods had gone essentially unchanged for a century.
Why did DOUBL stop selling bras?
Davis Williams told the TechTO stage in May 2026 that after four years, a Kickstarter and 400 units shipped, the made-to-measure model was broken and they pulled the plug. She described the decision as harder psychologically than strategically. In the 90 days after, the rebuilt business signed two retail customers, onboarded 1,000 users and filed two utility patents.
Where is DOUBL based?
Kelowna, British Columbia. It has been recognised by New Ventures BC and both founders made the BCBusiness 30 Under 30 list in 2025.
