About
Firework gives retailers and brands the tools to put shoppable video, livestream commerce and one-to-one video chat on their own websites and channels rather than renting attention on social platforms. Founded in 2017 by Vincent Yang and Jerry Luk and headquartered in San Mateo, California, it says it works with more than 1,500 brands and 500 retailers and has raised over $250M, including a $150M Series B led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 in May 2022. Drew Cashmore, who joined as head of global marketing in 2022 after nearly two decades at Walmart, told TechTO: Retail in 2023 that stores convert at 60 to 100 per cent while websites convert at around three, which is the gap video commerce is aimed at.
Backers
SoftBank Vision Fund 2 led the $150M Series B in May 2022 and took a board seat; American Express Ventures was named a strategic partner in the same announcement.
