About

Embark is a Canadian RESP provider that moved a traditionally analog, salesperson-sold product onto a digital platform where parents can model future tuition costs, sign up, and track government education grants. The business rebranded from Knowledge First Financial in early 2023 and is owned by the not-for-profit Embark Student Foundation. On stage in 2023, CEO Andrew Lo said the company serves roughly 1.2 million parents and students and draws on decades of accumulated RESP expertise. It is headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario.

Backers

Not venture-backed. Embark is owned by the Embark Student Foundation, a Canadian not-for-profit corporation that reinvests profits into student scholarships.
