Faktor started Faktory Ventures in 2017 after stepping back from operating roles — she has said she stopped working 150-hour weeks to get curious about AI, crypto and AR. The fund invested in early-stage companies she thought would be good for the world as well as good businesses; on the TechTO stage in November 2017 she said she was not a social impact investor, she simply would not back something she did not think was useful. It is no longer operating: BetaKit reported it became a division of the community organization Gamechanger, which in turn led to Disco. The faktoryventures.com domain is now parked.
